Fits the bill! Feb 08, 2010 We bought this for my 86 year old mother who simply could not use the remote control supplied by her cable company. After calling me every night to fix her TV, and contacting the Cable Company constantly to fix her TV, we knew we had to fund a simple remote that Mom could use without changing the function. We found the Weemote, and after setting it up for her, she's been using this now for several months and hasn't called to complain about her TV since!
The Weemote is the perfect solution for her!
Performs as promised, but ... Feb 07, 2010 I bought this for my 94 year old mother. I wouldn't call the programming instructions "crisp", but after a couple of iterations, it delivers as promised, and I no longer get calls saying "My TV is broken".
Great Tool for visually impaired! Jan 24, 2010 Great Tool for visually impaired! My mom is FINALLY able to operate her TV without our help...she feels independant again! Thanks!!!
Great Product Jan 05, 2010 Bought this for my mom who has dementia. Great product for someone who only needs on/off, sound, & channels! Used to find mom's TV with the schedule on screen because she bumped the "guide" button - no more with this remote. No more worries about her sitting with no TV because she hit the wrong button. Does take some time to program, but well worth it. Only disappointment was that it had "mute" button, which is not a good one for elderly to push accidently. Tried to shut off this button but didn't work, but was able to reprogram it as an increase in volume button instead of mute (using the "copy button features from old remote"). Wish they would write volume and channel on or near those buttons, but just put taped note on remote. Great product!

foolproof remote May 12, 2009 This is the best remote I have found for people with dementia. We bought it and took it to the nursing home, programmed it for my dad, and he is up and running. The remote has little screws that you take out to take off the front and back. Put the batteries in the back, then program the front. After you program it, you screw the front back on - so they cannot accidentally reprogram the remote by themselves. Before we had this, we had to go over and reprogram his stations all the time. Now, he only has certain stations he can watch and he is totally happy. He cannot accidentally turn the TV off of channel '3' -which causes the cable to be gone - because everything is programmed to work the way you want it. Spend some time reading the manual first so that you know how you want it to work. There are many options that can be programmed, if you want. We set his up so that each time he turns it on, it automatically goes to the Western Station.
